Hi, I’m Joanne Simpson, a BANT registered Nutritional Therapist based in Shotley Bridge near Durham in the North East of England.  Stress is undoubtedly one of the biggest influences on our health, it can zap our energy, affect our mood and cause problems with our digestion.  I am committed to educating and inspiring people to make changes to their nutrition and lifestyle in the face of the pressures of modern life, helping them create the happiest and healthiest version of themselves.

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Food is powerful! What we eat matters and even simple changes to our diets can make a difference and improve symptoms.  However, lifestyle pressures and busy lives don’t always make it easy to make food choices that support our bodies systems and help us function at our best. Nutritional Therapists can help you achieve this.

Nutritional therapy uses the functional medicine approach which looks at the body as a whole enabling us to identify and address imbalances which maybe at the root of health issues. It is a complimentary medicine which involves using the latest nutritional science and evidence-based research to support optimal health and wellbeing - using nutrition to enable the body to work at its best.  

Please note: Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical care but can work alongside it. Nutrition programmes can be communicated with other healthcare professionals involved, if required. Clients with ‘red flag’ symptoms are also referred to a medical professional for further investigation.
