What is Nutritional Therapy?

Food is powerful.  What we eat matters and even simple changes to our diets can make a difference and improve symptoms.  However, lifestyle pressures and busy lives don't always make it easy to make food choices that support our bodies systems and help us function at our best.  Nutritional Therapists can help you achieve this.

Nutritional therapy uses the functional medicine approach which looks at the body as a whole enabling us to identify and address imbalances which may at the root of health issues.  It is a complimentary medicine which involves using the latest nutritional science and evidence-based research to support optimal health and wellbeing - using nutrition to enable the body to work at its best.

Please note: Nutritional therapy is not a replacement for medical care but can work alongside it.  Nutritional programmes can be communicated with other healthcare professionals involved, if required.  Clients with 'red flag' symptoms are alsp referred to as medical professional for further investigation.


I am a graduate of the Institute of Optimum Nutrition, London and a member of BANT, the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine which is the professional body for nutritional therapists in the UK.  I am also registered with the CNHC, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. As a full member of these organisations, I abide by a strict Code of Ethics, provide proof of training and regularly undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This allows me to stay on top of the latest research and to learn from the leading practitioners and companies in the industry so I can provide my clients with the best treatment outcome possible.

My approach

My aim is to help busy, tired people reach their health goals and live happier, healthier lives.  I work closely with my clients, listening carefully to their story to find out about their health issues, symptoms, current nutrition and lifestyle. Getting to know a client and developing an understanding of them helps me create a personalised approach that is completely tailored to them.  implementing nutrition and lifestyle changes, gradually leading to long term improvements to their health.  I believe in coaching clients and working together to improve food and lifestyle choices to restore their health and achieve a way of eating and lifestyle that is sustainable -  it’s not about a short term, quick fix.

I work with clients whose health has been impacted by stress, which lets face could be anything but my particular areas of interest include stress management, mental wellbeing and digestive issues.
